Organizers of Boulevardia, the Kansas City urban street festival, are excited to announce that the pop-up party nation will return for its seventh year on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18. Several special attractions from previous years will return, including the iconic Ferris wheel, silent disco, Makers Market shopping experience and multiple stages of music, along with many new elements and experiences for attendees to enjoy.
With the support of Crown Center and the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department, this year’s festival will take place on Grand Boulevard, and throughout Crown Center and Washington Square Park, in Kansas City, Missouri.
“After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are excited to bring Boulevardia back bigger and better than ever,” said Trever Frickey, Boulevardia president. “We look forward to finally sharing our vision for the festival in its new location on Grand Boulevard and are eager to bring a fresh new flavor of Boulevardia to this venue.”
Boulevardia was built as a festival that could pop up in any Kansas City area. The festival originally took place in the West Bottoms for its first three years, followed by the Stockyards District for the next three years. The festival planned to move to its new location in Crown Center and Washington Square Park in 2020. The new location provides festival attendees with the chance to experience Boulevardia with a new Kansas City backdrop that is easily accessible to the Crossroads District, streetcar and downtown area.
“We’ve been looking forward to welcoming Boulevardia to Crown Center since 2020 and are excited to finally be able to bring the urban street festival downtown,” said Crown Center President Stacey Paine.
Discounted weekend passes can be purchased beginning Dec. 15 as part of a 48-hour flash sale. All other tickets will go on sale in early 2022. Hotel packages for The Sheraton and The Westin hotels will also go on sale Dec. 15 in time for the holiday season. Tickets may be purchased at https://boulevardia.com/tickets.
Boulevardia’s organizers are creating a music lineup that will showcase local, regional and national acts; inviting select restaurants and craft breweries to participate in the Taps & Tastes event; and planning other unique experiences for the weekend. Additional details about the festival will be announced in the coming months.
