Brasserie d’Achouffe, nestled in Belgium’s picturesque Vallée des Fées, began as a passion project in the late 1970s when brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts decided to craft their own beer.
On August 27, 1982, they produced their first 49-liter batch in a modest cowshed. What started as a hobby soon flourished; by 1986, both founders committed full-time, and in 1992, production expanded from 3,400 to 5,000 hectoliters annually. Embracing the folklore of their region, the brewery adopted gnomes as their emblem, with each beer represented by its own character.
In 2006, Brasserie d’Achouffe joined the Duvel Moortgat family, further enhancing its global reach. Today, the brewery continues to blend tradition with innovation, delighting beer enthusiasts worldwide
