As an artist and designer, Kate E. Burke is curious, constantly learning and growing. Currently her work is focused on illustration, pattern, textile design, and fashion. Kate E. finds inspiration in the natural world. She translates complicated and intricate natural objects into simple ink marks, watercolors drawings and digital illustration. Turning these drawings into graphic pattern repeats, she creates surface designs and printed fabric. She also experiments with dye to create vibrant organic color mixes. She uses these processes as a way to catalog life, memories and experience. Kate E. explores ways pattern and color can become bold textiles, clothing and accessories. Her aim is to increase joy and self confidence in the world through her various art forms and creations. She currently maintains her studio in the historic Strawberry Hill neighborhood of Kansas City, KS.
